المجموعة الشمسية أو النظام الشمسي هو نظام كوكبي يتكون من الشمس، وجميع ما يدور حولها من
أجرام بما فيها الأرض، والكواكب الأخرى، كما يحتوي النظام الشمسي على أجرام صغيرة
أخرى؛ وهي: المذنبات، والنيازك، والكويكبات، وسنعرفكم في هذا المقال على كواكب

عطارد
عطارد هو أصغر الكواكب في
المجموعة الشمسية، وأقربها إلى الشمس، وأُطلق عليه في اللاتينية اسم ميركوري، وذلك
نسبة إلى إله التجارة الروماني، ويعني لفظ عُطارد سريع الجري، فهو يرمز إلى السرعة
الكبيرة في دورانه حول الشمس، ويبلغ قطره ما يُقارب ال 4880كم، أما كتلته فتبلغ
0.055 من كتلة الأرض، ويُكمل دورته حول الشمس خلال 87.969 يوماً، وهو يشتمل على أعلى
قيمة للشذوذ المداري من بين كافة كواكب المجموعة الشمسية، وعلى أصغر ميل محوري من
بين هذه الكواكب، ويُتم ثلاث دورات حول محوره لكل دورتين مداريتين، ولا يُمكن
رؤيته في وضح النهار إلا إذا كان هناك كسوف للشمس، لذا بالإمكان مشاهدته في الفجر،
والشفق.الزهرة
الزهرة هو ثاني كواكب المجموعة الشمسية قرباً
للشمس، وهو كوكب تُرابي مثل عُطارد، ويُشبه كوكب الأرض من حيث التركيب والحجم،
وأُطلق عليه اسم فينوس نسبة إلى إله الجمال، أما تسميته بالزهرة فيعود إلى سطوع
هذا الكوكب من الكرة الأرضية نتيجة لانعكاس نسبة كبيرة من ضوء الشمس بسبب كثافة
الغلاف الجوي الكبيرة، حيث يعني لفظ زُهرة البياض النير. وكوكب الزهرة أقرب إلى
الشمس من الأرض، لذا فهو يكون بنفس الناحية التي تكون بها الشمس على الأغلب،
وبالإمكان رؤيته من سطح الأرض قبل الشروق، أو بعد المغيب بمدة قصيرة، ولهذا السبب
يُطلق عليه اسم نجم الصبح، أو نجم المساء، وحينما يظهر في تلك الفترة يكون أسطع
جسم موجود في السماء.الأرض
الأرض هي ثالث كواكب المجموعة الشمسية بعداً عن
الشمس، وهي من أكبر الكواكب في النظام الشمسي من ناحية قطرها، وكثافتها، وكتلتها،
ويُسمى هذا الكوكب أيضاً باسم العالم، واليابس، ويسكن الأرض الملايين من
المخلوقات، وهي المكان الوحيد المفعم بالحياة على سطحها.
المريخ
المريخ هو رابع كوكب من حيث البعد عن الشمس،
ويتسم بأنه الجار الخارجي للأرض، ويندرج تحت الكواكب الصخرية، وأُطلق عليه اسم
المريخ نسبة إلى لفظة أمرخ، أي ذو البقع الحمراء، واسمه باللاتينية مارس الذي
اتخذه الرومان إله للحب، ويُلقب حالياً باسم الكوكب الأحمر إذ يميل لونه إلى
الحمرة بسبب كمية غبار أكسيد الحديد الثلاثي الموجودة على سطحه، وفي جوه، ويشتمل
على قمرين؛ يُطلق على الأول اسم ديموس، والثاني فوبوس.

المشتري هو خامس الكواكب بُعداً عن الشمس،
وأضخمها في المجموعة الشمسية، وسُمي بذلك لأنه يستشري في سيره، أي يلجُّ فيه دون
فتور، أو انكسار، وأطلق عليه الرومان قديماً اسم جوبيتر، وهو إله البرق والسماء.

بُعداً عن الشمس، وسُمي بذلك لبعده عن السماء، واسمه اللاتيني ساترون، ويعني إله
الزراعة والحصاد، ويندرج تحت الكواكب الغازية التي تُدعى الكواكب الجوفيانية
أورانوس هو سابع الكواكب بُعداً عن الشمس، سُمي
بذلك نسبة إلى الإله أورانوس، وهو أول كوكب اكتشفه وليام هرشل عن طريق التلسكوب،
وكان ذلك عام 1781م.نبتون
نبتون هو الكوكب الثامن بُعداً عن الشمس، ويحتوي على ست حلقات.
ولكن ماذا بلوتو ؟؟ اليس ضمن المجموعة الشمسية ؟؟
